Today I was thinking about installing a new website tracker to some of my websites, I’ve been using Google Analytics for some time but lately I kind of feel a bit uncomfortable about Google getting all the possible info about my sites. Its not that I’m doing anything “Black hat” I really don’t, never did never will but I believe that Google already has to large a piece of the Internet all for themselves and I believe that ANY kind of monopoly is  a bad thing.

So today I will try to find a website tracker that has following features:
1. It must be installed on my own server, without any kind of contact with this software’s producer, do not want to share my info anyone else.
2. It needs to provide all the info GA provides.
3. Must be easy to install and simple to use, nice looking user interface would be nice.
4. Must use one install to track all my sites.

This is it for now, when I think about other features I need I’ll update this page. I’ll also let you know how it turns out and who the winner is.

I would appreciate if anyone can post their own experiences with alternative website tracking software.
